Day 8: Driving north and Cliffs of Moher
September 15, 2007
Driving through Connor Pass on the way out of Dingle
Lots of random lakes from the water runoff
We saw water falling and decided to hike up to the lake
And here it is (much work was involved to get up here)
Carrigafolye Castle. It's in the middle of nowhere
It was built in the 1490s...
...and brutally attacked in 1580. Alot of people died here
Climbing to the top; it was about 5 stories high
The view of the Shannon estuary from the castle
Walking back down
Can you see me at the top with my arms up?
See? Definitely in the middle of nowhere
See our Panda? Car ferry to County Clare
Matt watching the River Shannon go by
town of Kilkee, where we had lunch
Here are the Cliffs of Moher
Don't fall off of them
Kind of hard to show how tall they are in a picture
Self portrait
Strangers just don't get how to take good pictures
So there are 2 sides you can walk on. This is side 1, with castle
Here is the castle
One more of side 1
Soon the castle will just be a speck
Last self portrait
Now we're on side 2. See the castle?
We walked out to the part with no railings. Scary.
Everyone else was doing it too. Who obeys warning signs?

Last one! Time for MORE driving to get to Bunratty
Bunratty Castle. We didn't go inside...
...but we did enjoy a few beers beneath it :)
This is a famous bar in Ireland; it's right next to the castle
Bunratty Castle again
